  1. Glastonbury festival

This festival gets well over 130000 people attending it. Usually taking place in 22nd – 24th June or any suitable date on the last week of June, the festival usually takes place in Pilton in the United Kingdom. It was launched in September 1970 and has seen its attendance increasingly growing over the years. Organized by Glastonbury Festivals limited, the annual festival attracts performers such as Coldplay, Beyonce, Florence and the Machine, the Chemical Brothers, Pharell Williams and The Who among many more, each playing their own music genre although house and rock music are played the most. The three to five day event attracts people from all over the world and is surely a must attend festival for anyone.

  1. Isle Of White’

This may be the best European music festival for rock fans. The event takes place in the first half of June and attracts about 60,000 enthusiasts from all over the world. It was started in 1968, but then became inactive after some time. The festival was launched back again in 2002 and to and has been an attraction since then. Tickets to the event normally get sold out for all the three days. It occurs annually in Seaclose park, England. Artists that have graces the event over the years include Pink, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi, The Script among many more.

  1. FIB – Festival Internacional de Benicàssim

The FIB festival is one of Spain’s biggest music festival. Taking place in the town of Benicàssim, Spain, the festival features most music genres such as pop, indie and rock music. The event is not a music only festival as other activities such as theatre and film do take place there. Some of the artists who have graced the event include Florence & The Machine and The Prodigy among many more. Started in 1995, the festival takes place in the second week of July and lasts for four days. One is assured to have a lot of fun and listen to good music in this festival.

This is the biggest event in Denmark that attracts huge crowds from different diversified cultures. Originally named the Sound Festival, the event began in 1971 and has immensely grown since then. As its name suggests, it takes place in Roskilde, Denmark. Anyone can attend this festival as a wide range of different music genres are played in it such as Rock music, alternative rock, reggae, hip hop, indie, world and electronic music. Some popular artists who have graced the festival include Pharell Williams, Florence & The Machine, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Stevie Wonder, to mention just a few of the many artists that attend. The event is mainly held to raise funds for charity.

Germany is known for its rich culture and the country manifests this through Germans biggest music festival, the Berlin Festival. It takes place in Berlin as the name sells it out at Berlin Tempelhof Airport. The event takes place in September and plays music genres from rock an electronic dance music. The two day annual event started in 2005 and gets up to 20,000 attendance.

This is undoubtedly the world’s most renowned music festival. It was just started in 2005 and has since then attracts very large crowds of electronic music lovers. The festival is held at Boom Belgium, Georgia USA and in ITU Brazil. Up to 180,000 tickets sell out within one day of the festival’s announcement. The dates for the event usually change so one has to wait for it to be announced. The biggest of this festival saw up to two million people attend it. The festival also awards the best international dance music. Some of the DJs and artistes to have performed in this event include David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren and Hardwell.

This is the best music festival in the world and has even got awards for itself. It takes place during the summer between 9th to 12th July in Novi Sad, Serbia. The festival fuses all kinds of music genres including rock, hip hop, electronic dance, electronica, Punk, Bass and heavy metal. This makes the event all rounded and can be attended by any music lover. It began in 2000 and to date, about 200,000 people attend the four day event. Snoop Dogg, Lilly Allen, Chemical Brothers, Arctic Monkeys and The Bad Seeds are among the artists and bands to have performed at the event.
